About Asparagus This website comes to you courtesy of the Australian Asparagus Council, a group of 64 asparagus growers - from the Koo Wee Rup, East Gippsland, Lindenow and other areas - who are committed to producing and marketing high quality asparagus. In spite of a history spanning more than 2000 years, the fascination for this delectable vegetable has not diminished. Australian asparagus has been highly valued on the global stage for more than two decades, and although Australians recently considered asparagus a delicacy to be eaten on special occasions rather than for every day meals, this trend is changing.
