Stefano De Pieri

In 1974, aged nineteen, Stefano De Pieri migrated to Melbourne from Treviso, Italy. In 1992 Stefano joined the Mildura Grand Hotel and set up his now renowned restaurant, 'Stefano's' which was named Victoria’s Restaurant of the Year in 2002  (The Age Good Food Guide). 

Stefano became widely known through his nationally televised program, A Gondola on the Murray (ABCTV), based on his book of the same name. Stefano’s interests also include Dining Room One at the Mildura Grand Hotel (www.milduragrand.com), a Cafe Bakery, a Paddle Boat cafe on the Murray River and an olive oil production company. He is also developing his vineyard interests and his articles appear regularly in the weekend press.

Stefano has a passion for showcasing fresh seasonal local produce and asparagus is no exception.
