Sue Verhey

Sue Verhey entertained and informed visitors to the cooking stage during the 2005 Celebrate Asparagus Festival. Sue is passionate about using fresh organic seasonal ingredients and creating sweet delights. Her favourite ingredients include asparagus, tomatoes, fresh herbs, fresh fruit and free-range eggs. She loves to steam or blanch fresh asparagus, adding it to a stir-fry or sautéing it for breakfast as the recipe she presented at the festival - One Pan Breakfast.

Sue has been working at The Corner Post in Beaconsfield since April 2005, before which she worked at Muddy Creek Restaurant in Narre Warren East, Cotswold House Restaurant in Menzies Creek, Burnham Beeches Country House in Sassafrass and Monash University in Berwick. Sue loves sharing her knowledge of food and also makes herself available for cooking lessons and hospitality training.

Located in the Old Beaconsfield Post Office, the Corner Post is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.00 am – 5.00 pm and offers indoor and outdoor dining in delightful garden surrounds. Also available at The Corner Post are French country home wares and a boutique nursery with a wide range of plants and garden accessories.

Sue Verhey can be contacted at The Corner Post on PH (03) 9707 0994.
